Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 14, 2026

1. Who we are

ConquerBid is operated by [Your legal name or company name]. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the Service and why. We run our own server for ConquerBid (no third-party backend platform beyond our payment processor, Stripe), so your data isn't shared with any data processor other than the ones named below.

2. What we collect, and why it's public

ConquerBid is a public map: the whole point of buying a country is that your brand name, color, logo, and link are shown on it, and every conquest (who paid what, for which country, and when) feeds a public leaderboard and "war feed". Do not submit anything you want to keep private - the brand name, link, and logo you provide at checkout are shown to every visitor of the site.

We collect and store:

  • Brand info you submit: brand name, destination link, chosen color, and logo (if provided).
  • Transaction records: which country, how much was paid, whether the payment won or lost a simultaneous race, and whether/how much was refunded. We also store the Stripe payment/refund IDs needed to process refunds.
  • Basic server logs: standard web server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, timestamps) kept for security and debugging purposes.
  • Anonymous presence data: to show the "N online" / "N visitors today" counter in the header, your browser generates a random id (not tied to your name, email, or account) and pings us every ~15 seconds while the tab is open. We only ever show aggregate counts - nobody can see who else is on the site.

We do not collect your name, email, or address ourselves - Stripe collects whatever it needs to process your payment (see below), and we never see or store your full card number.

3. Local storage

To save you from retyping your brand name, link, and color every time you buy a country, we store them in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us until you actually submit a purchase.

We also generate a random, anonymous id stored the same way, used only to power the "online now" / "visitors today" counter described above. Neither of these is a tracking cookie, and we don't currently use any analytics or advertising trackers; if that changes, we'll update this policy.

4. Payment processing (Stripe)

All payments are handled by Stripe, which acts as an independent data controller for the payment details you give it (card number, billing details, email for your receipt). Stripe is based in the United States, so your payment data is processed there regardless of where you live. Review Stripe's own privacy policy for details on how it handles your data.

5. How long we keep data

Transaction and conquest records are kept indefinitely as part of the public game history (similar to a public leaderboard - erasing past entries would break the integrity of the "war log" for everyone). You can ask us to update or remove the brand name, link, or logo currently displayed on a country you own by contacting us below; we can't retroactively hide who paid what for historical entries, but those typically only ever contained a brand name and link, not personal data.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. Contact us at [[email protected]] and we'll do what we reasonably can, subject to the public-ledger limitation in the section above.

7. Children

The Service is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect data from, anyone under 18 (see our Terms of Service).

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; we'll change the "Last updated" date above when we do.
